Floorplan sketch of apartment & dimension taking

Tape measurer to gather dimensions

Throwing all the recorded dimensions into Rhino & 3D modeling all primary elements (walls-furniture) according to real-life dimensions. Many trial+adjustments were necessary since there’d inherently be human error involved…well Jo error….

I got slightly frustrated here because things didn’t seem to add up even though I spent hours remeasuring my apartment. Fortunately, we did get somewhere decent.

Result

Modified the skybox & the interior lighting.
Managed to get the virtual layout as comfortably identical to reality.
Will never get over the live hand-tracking feature that increases immersion tenfold.

Notes: I used my phone to record the real apartment scene(right-half of video), use scrcpy in future to record pass-through using quest 2 cameras.
Found here: https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy
Yet to add more cool elements like making my wall a movie screen or changing the lighting completely.
