The AMEX Centurion Lounge at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center provides card members with exclusive lounge access during the weeks of matches during the US Tennis Open. Serving as a space to unwind, dine and escape the huge crowds that attend, a balancing of operational efficiency, spatial aesthetic and comfort was key. 

The project in 2025 focused on the permanent refurbishment of a segment of the lounge, namely to… 
- Introduce a banquette seating area with dining tables
- Reinvent the back-of-house food preparation area
- Manage the flow of guests at the food self-service area  

My involvement centered on the spatial design including early conceptual moodboarding, visualization and presentation of design options to clients and the technical drawings of the space and design elements for fabrication. Liaising with the kitchen operators to understand their operational needs was just as important as creating a cohesive lounge aesthetic in-line with the Centurion Lounge name.

Selecting materials and specifying furniture and equipment(both BOH and FOH) amidst a tight timeline for a permanent installation was a challenge but ultimately rewarding.
